What is a fat bomb?
A fat bomb is a small snack, treat, or dessert designed to be low in carbs and high in healthy fats, commonly used on the ketogenic diet. These bites provide sustained energy and help stabilize blood sugar, preventing the sugar crash that comes from traditional sweets. Fat bombs come in savory and sweet varieties; this recipe delivers the classic cookie dough flavor while staying keto-friendly.
Flour alternatives
If you don’t have almond flour, you can substitute with coconut flour, tapioca flour, or a seed-based flour you prefer. Almond flour is recommended for this recipe because of its light texture and mild flavor, which blends well with the other ingredients and produces the classic cookie-dough mouthfeel.


Sweetener alternatives
This recipe works best with a granulated keto sweetener like Swerve for texture and sweetness, but you can use monk fruit, stevia (granulated), or other keto-approved sweeteners you prefer. For the best texture, choose a granulated form rather than liquid sweeteners.
Keto chocolate chips
When selecting chocolate on a keto diet, check the ingredients and avoid sugar alcohols like maltitol that can affect blood sugar. Choose dark chocolate with a high cocoa percentage, or sugar-free chocolate chips specifically labeled keto-friendly.
For convenience, there are widely available sugar-free chocolate chips and keto-friendly dark chocolate options sold under several brands; pick a product that lists minimal added sugars or specifically markets itself as keto-friendly.
Storing fat bombs
Store Cookie Dough Fat Bombs in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. For longer storage, place them in a freezer-safe container or freezer bags and freeze for up to a month. Thaw frozen fat bombs by removing the number you want about 30 minutes before serving so they soften but remain firm.

Ingredients
- 2 ¼ cups almond flour
- ½ cup butter, softened
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup granulated Swerve (or preferred keto granulated sweetener)
- 1 ¼ teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup sugar-free, keto-friendly chocolate chips
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, combine the almond flour, softened butter, cream cheese, granulated sweetener, vanilla, and chocolate chips.
2. Use an electric mixer to blend until the mixture is smooth and holds together.
3. Scoop teaspoon-sized portions and roll into small balls. A small cookie scoop or teaspoon works well for uniform sizes.
4. Chill the balls in the refrigerator until firm, then store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week or freeze for longer storage.
