That was fun to make. Admittedly it’s the wrong season for heavy felted gloves, even fingerless ones, but winter will be back before long.
The project began with a men’s emerald green lambswool (70%) and cashmere (30%) sweater I found at a charity shop for 25p. A hot wash and agitation reduced it dramatically until it resembled a doll-sized sweater.

I cut off the sleeves, added a couple of thumb slits and finished the edges…

Ta-da! The result is incredibly soft—by far the nicest machine-felted pieces I’ve made so far. They feel luxurious and are wonderfully snug for cool days.
